That TV ad freaked me out so much as a kid, I refused to watch that movie in my teens, when I was watching just about every horror movie I could get my hands on. Somebody rented it, and I simply refused, and did something else until it was over. Come to think of it, I still haven't seen It's Alive, and I don't think I want to. I've heard the actual movie is pretty cheesy, but the thought of that ad gives me the heebie-jeebies.
