QuoteOh, so it's country you want? I'm sure the Oak Ridge Boys can oblige.

Remember when bending your knees slightly could pass for dancing?
My mother loved them and I actually went to see thm in concert.  Does that qualify as child abuse?

That was one of the staples of my local bar back in the day. Would be played at some point every night I was there.

Here's another one that the DJ used to sign off at the end of the night, circa 1989.

Andy my friend, I hope you were working there.  If not you should have picked a better bar from the sounds of it.   :bouncegiggle:

How about a bit of Rico Suave;

It had several things going for it, particularly in the late 80s. My friends were there, the beer was cheap, identification was seldom checked, closing time was something of a guideline, and they actually played quite a bit of good rock, all on vinyl. The same DJ who signed off with Richard Marx would play just about any request. She'd play an entire side for you if it was a good album. Oh, the other advantage was that I could always walk home if necessary.

This awful Cheap Trick song:

I'm a huge fan of ballads, but this thing has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.

I always liked Weird Al's parody of Rico Suave which was called "Taco Grande".

Rico Suave commits what I consider a cardinal sin of pop music - he's named in his own song. It's vain, it's cheesy, it's shameless, it's dumb. The hallmark of crap.

Rockwell-Somebody's Watching Me

Michael Jackson and the beat make the song happen.  Rockwell pretty much ruins the song with his performance.

Daphne & Celeste "Ooh Stick You"

I must now curse you with the vilest curse known to man. I listened to this and thought, "I can see where that's a bit annoying, but it's almost cute, in a very childish way. So I played it for my wife. NOW IT WON'T LEAVE OUR HEADS!!!!! It's a tiny time bomb, waiting in my brain for a pause in my thought process, at which time it jumps out and screams, "Oooh, stick you! Yo' mamma and yo' daddy!" PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!!!

I've got all the Mr. Big records, they are a fantastic bunch of muscians, but I do agree that I don't like this song, far too sappy.

That analogy also holds up for Saigon Kick and this song;
