Good pick, Doggett!!  THE ORPHANAGE was really good.

But let's not forget AN AMERICAN CAROL :teddyr:
(Indy ducks as a barrage of rotten tomatoes, eggs, and week-old cabbage comes flying his way!)

Joke nomination, or real nomination?  I never can tell with Indy!

Just kidding . . . I did like AN AMERICAN CAROL, but it wasn't that great.  Just better than most of the spoofs that have come out of Hollywood lately.

BTW, I watched THE DARK KNIGHT again this evening, and I still love this movie.  Even Maggie Gyllenhall's features were . . . less unattractive, shall we say - than on the big screen.
"I shall smite you in the nostrils with a rod of iron, and wax your spleen with Efferdent!!"

Pilgermann

Encounters at the End of the World

Dark Knight and Wall-E are close behind.

HarlotBug3

For grown ups: There Will be Blood.

For kids: Wall-E

For B-movie laffs: Prince Caspian (Susan in a corset keeps you watching. Its pathetic attempt to be more than a rich man's sci-fi original/poor man's LOTR keeps you laughing.)
"Do you have something against droppings?" "Well, no, I..." "Sure, everyone says that till they step in it."

Just like with the worst movies of 2008 thread (http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,122512.0.html), I thought I'd give everyone one more day to add nominees to the list before "official" voting begins.

Here are the nominees so far:

THE DARK KNIGHT (Rev. Powell)
LARS AND THE REAL GIRL (doggett)
HELLBOY 2 (doggett)
THE INCREDIBLE HULK (doggett)
THE FALL (Rat-Bat-Spider)
SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE (Rat-Bat-Spider)
SHOTGUN STORIES (Rat-Bat-Spider)
MILK (Rat-Bat-Spider)
HAPPY GO LUCKY (Rat-Bat-Spider)
RACHEL GETTING MARRIED (Rat-Bat-Spider)
WALL-E (Akiraturbo)
IRON MAN (Anubis von Mojo)
BOLT (The Burgomaster)
RAMBO (Circus_Circus)
IN BRUGES (peter johnson)
THE ORPHANAGE (doggett)
ENCOUNTERS AT THE END OF THE WORLD (Pilgermann)
THERE WILL BE BLOOD (HarlotBug3) (technically a 2007 movie, but it was only in limited release in 2007)
PRINCE CASPIAN (HarlotBug3)

"Wall-E," too. For a couple of reasons.

(1st) Each year I compile a list of the "best" and "worst" films of the year, as chosen by the critics. There are almost fifty films on the "best" list this year. "Wall-E" is the only one I've seen of the fifty.

(2) While there are a number of films that have made multiple critics' lists of the "best," most notablely "Milk," "Wall-E" is the only one that, so far, has made every critic's "best" list. So, "Wall-E" is my choice, too.

If you haven't already, go cast your vote in this thread: http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php/topic,122641.0.html.  WALL-E is currently tied for the top position with IRON MAN, so you can break the deadlock.
