OK, the nominations are in... time to vote!

I didn't see any of the above movies, but that's not going to stop me from voting for MEET DAVE.  Since no Keanu Reeves movies were nominated, I'm just guessing that an Eddie Murphy vehicle just has to deserve the honor.  I also considered BABY MAMA (based on the trailer) and SAW V (because, well, because it's a Saw franchise movie).
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I've only seen 3  of them - and I liked them all.  So I'll abstain from this one.  I should've nominated THE BLOOD SHED.  I still get a twitch thinking about that dreadful film.

Only saw two of these, and liked them.  So I guess I can't really vote.

If I were to vote, it'd go directly to Star Wars.

Voted for House.  It was close between it and Lakeview Terrace.  The Strangers was a real stinker, but I'd watch it again if I had to.  I'd drag my nuts across a hot stove eye before I'd watch House or Lakeview Terrace again.

I voted for the happening, since it was the only film I saw in theaters this year and didn't like it.

My vote stands with SAW V, though from what I've seen I figure the new Indiana Jones is most likely a strong runner up.

Can't believe Strangers made the list, it has some glaring flaws ("Based on true events" crap), but all in all it's probably one of the most effective horror flicks of the decade so far. I'd nom it for best had I seen it before last night! XD

That whole "base on true events" thing was pretty crap.  Ultimately the director was like, "I just took some elements of the Manson Family and threw it in."  Whatever.

Ultimately, The Strangers was better than a bunch of the other 'horror' flicks I've seen in the past 5-6 years or so.

Oh God, Witless Protection should have been nominated.  One of the single worst films I've ever seen.  It's racist, unfunny, annoying, and amateur in all aspects of filmmaking.  The ONLY positive element for me was that Jenny McCarthy was in it, but that won't even matter to some folks.

It's just a boring mishmash of elements already done to death in every other horror movie ever.  It took a Herculean feat of will for me just to watch it all the way through.  When Liv Tyler hid in a louvered closet from people wearing scary white masks, I almost hit stop.  I can imagine the writer/director brainstorming that scene.

Ooh!  She can hide in a closet, you know, like in Halloween.
Yeah!  That'd be awesome.  And it'll be different cause, like, there's three killers instead of one!
Way cool, bro!  Oh, and instead of a louvered closet door, it'll be a louvered PANTRY door!
Dude, you are such a genius!

.....

Damn, now I wish I'd voted for The Strangers.

Vote is for AVPR.

Awful film. Too dark to tell what is happening half the time and the plot.... umm what plot?

Just another stupid horror film leeching from the success of Alien, Aliens and predator.

Damn, now I wish I'd voted for The Strangers.
Bleh, The Strangers may be derivative but the elements it "borrowed", I thought it used in a creative, inoffensive way. I'd have to search to find stuff I could pinpoint to a specific movie, the jump scares for the most part were surprisingly substantial, and the "trip-and-fall" thing wasn't just for cheap thrills, but used to heighten suspense. The louvered door scene in The Strangers didn't really make me think "Halloween", in the latter the scene focused on Laurie hiding and Michael's attempts of getting in, in the former the focus was on Sack-Head "maybe/maybe not" discovering Kristen. I really do think the dynamic of a murderous trio is one of the things that endeared Strangers to me, it's a nice change from one main madman or a huge horde of monsters, I like creative, multiple-maniacs!

More on topic I never would have expected this dead-heat! Figured "Meet Dave" would be completely forgotten by the public, and I thought with all the hubbub about it being "so much better than part 1", everyone liked AVP2, yet they both have 3 votes each!

Man, I'm guessing I must have watched the sucky version of "The Strangers".  It was pointless, witless and, as I said in the main thread on that movie, just plain ugly.  Not visually, but because it had no reason for anything. I can live with random maniacs and violence for the sake of violence because if used in the right way, it can bring forth some amazing reactions.  But this wasn't designed to get any response out of anybody that I can see.  They chase these two idiots for way too long and to do what?  Build suspense?  None to be found.  Show how crafty the killers were?  I've seen smarter people in Wal-Mart.  The killers seemed bored.  And were the filmmakers trying to show you how "normal" people can't handle random violence?  Well, then it makes me want to be less normal because our victims did everything possible to make sure they were ultimately captured and killed.  And the killing of the stupid friend who came to help did nothing to build a sense of "What will happen to him?"  It would have been better to have him leave at the first sign something wasn't right and leave our mis-matched lovers to their fate.

It was like the film studio saw what Rob Zombie was doing and thought they could cash in on it and did everything mostly wrong.  No suspense, no brutality that made you ponder the human animal's depth of cruelty and evil, no sense of fate or any higher purpose in what happened, just two people chased around and then stabbed. The only good thing they did was put Liv Tyler in it, but they failed to give her a character you could love or hate, you just wondered if she was going to go psycho when she ran out of cigarettes.

And don't EVEN get me started on that ending. Didn't we get enough of that drivel in the 80's?

I'm not kidding when I say that I would rather watch "Peter Rottentail" five times in a row than be subjected to the mind-numbing, IQ-subtracting soup of fecal matter that is "The Strangers" ever again, in parts or as a whole.

But, hey, if you like it, then I am happy for you.  Everything has to have someone to care for it.  My love for "Blood Mania" helps me ignore all who bad-mouth it, even if they may be right.

AVP2 was utter s**t. Saying that I thought the first was pretty bad until I watched AVP2 then I noticed it could have been far worse.

Psycho Circus

I was quite surprised Love Guru didn't get a mention, it should probably be on this list. It's possibly the worst comedy fil I have ever seenand I've seen Exit To Eden!  :buggedout:
