I find it kinda upsetting to find Titanic on here. Titanic was a great achievement; the sets were breathtaking.

Dude, take it like a man. (Go watch Die Hard!)

Yeah Die Hard is full of kick ass action. I have all 3 films on DVD.

Aren't there 4 ?
Or do you not think of it as a DH film.

It's a bad film for sure...

Yeah it's a shame to the other three.  :tongueout:

It's the same deal with Indy IV, too.

But I don't think of Die Hard 4 or Indy 4 as bad movies, just the other three were better.

Ow damn, why do I always screw up?  :bluesad:

Your opinion is not wrong.  We just differ in that respect.  I do try to post a mix of films to the site.  One week a 80's science fiction movie, another week a kung fu flick, the week after that a rock 'n' roll musical.  I  try to create a mix of reviews, including those from readers.  "Titanic" just ends up being that big budget film that many people loved, but some of us absolutely hated.

I did like watching Leonardo DiCaprio slowly freeze to death and then sink into the icy depths.  That was enjoyable.

How do you know it isn't the German Titanic made during Nazi Germany?  Or the Nigerian Titanic movie?  There is also a Catherine Zeta Jones titanic movie, and an animated titanic movie.  I live by the rule that all Titanic movies are terrible, but at least some have nudity.

Right after Rose says "I won't let go" which to me is classic.

Well I still don't think it belongs on a website to the detriment of good film. Even if it is a "bad" movie, it's a pretty good "bad" movie, considering... But that's just my two cents...
TITANIC is a pretty damned good BAD MOVIE...  I also think, as CircusCircus put it so succinctly regarding TOMB RAIDER, it "sux ass".

I suppose these are both candidates for the "movies everyone hates" discussion. Except that I actually really enjoyed Tomb Raider. There are movies I watch to make me think, that have interesting plots, character arcs, themes, all that good stuff. And there are movies that have the depth of tissue paper, but that are fun anyway. Tomb Raider was junk food. But it was fun junk food.

jimmybob

Yeah. How can you not like Angelina Jolie with a Brit accent?  :teddyr:

Well I can't argue with no TITANIC sucking no butt.

Kester Pelagius

What is "mainstream" and as defined by whom?

Consider that there are also reviews here for: The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, which plays on TCM from time to time; Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold, Hallmark channel material; Army of Darkness, the most mainstream of the Evil Dead movies; At the Earth's Core, a movie based on a classic; Babes in Toyland, if it's been a Broadway musical I think it qualifies as mainstream; Buck Rogers, I mean c'mon if you're not going to complain about THIS being here then you've no right to complain at all; The Conqueror, it's a John Wayne movie and, uhm, nevermind bad example; Flash Gordon, I mean c'mon if you're not going to complain about THIS being here then you've no right to complain at all; Krull (WTF?) &tc yadayadayada

Heck there's even a review here for LEXX: I Worship His Shadow.  That wasn't bad it was quirky, it pushed the envelope, it was sci-fi outside the box, it was. . .

There is A NIGHT TO REMEMBER (1958) which is pretty damned good.
