I Was hoping to find the name of this movie. It seems to be based in the 70-80 period. the lead actor is a young male and he is chasing a girl who seems to be loving other people. He Builds a swan like plane on a bike and then rides/flies away on it out of a football stadium. It looked like a cult classic and it is older probably 70's. AAny help would be great thanks!

Probably BIRDY (1984) with a young Nicolas Cage & Matthew Modine: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086969/

The football stadium he flies out of is the Houston Astrodome, if I remember correctly.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

I think that the movie your looking for stars Bud Cort of Harold and Maud fame and  Sally Kellerman as the girl you mention. The movie is called Brewster McCloud. I think its an off-beat Robert Altman flick.

Stonethrower, I think you're right!  BREWSTER was the movie I was thinking of, even though I confused it with the similar BIRDY.

Similar?  I'll go with the desire to fly part but other than that...similar?

Similar enough that I got the titles and casts of two movies I watched 20 years ago confused.

Anyway, 12InRuin, was stonethrower correct?  Can we move this to solved?
