Ever googled your name?

Trevor

I did once and found some strange things indeed.

According to Google, I have namesakes who are directors of mental health organizations, basketball players and a bass guitarist for a group called Bad To Da Bone.  :buggedout:

Where the Google search finds the real Trevor Moses, it's mostly my reviews that come up or films that I've tried not to wreck while working on.  :teddyr:

The one that always makes me laugh is my name appearing in an IMDB review of A Dry White Season where the reviewee cr*pped all over me and my standpoint on the film. I said that "it was a film about racists, made by a racist filmmaker" and this person said that I should get my facts right as

1. It is not a film made by a racist filmmaker and
2. Robert Redford worked for nothing on the film.

Mr Redford had nothing to do with that film, it was Marlon Brando who did in fact not ask a fee for appearing in this film, but he did bring his own portable toilet to the set.  :buggedout: :buggedout:

According to the IMDb, I appeared in the film Sam and Janet, and my popularity is up 304% this week!

I was about to click on Gary Busey's name when I noticed the other one.

The Burgomaster

Apparently, I'm mixed up in the mob:

Vito Salamone "is close with members and associates of Chicago LCN," the other FBI report said. It also said Vito Salamone was president and Joseph Salamone was secretary of a company that operated a restaurant in Addison "known to the FBI as being a meeting place of Chicago LCN."

According to Google:

Award Winning chef, Doctor, graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper and I twitter from Canada.

By the way, this AIN'T me!!!

Kester Pelagius

Sadly my name and surname are rather common.  But, let's see. .

My name turns up a IMDB listing, two wikipedia pages, and 271,000 other assorted hits.  Well, okay, I guess that technically that's not really my name as I didn't type in my full legal name as it appears on my driver's license. .

Holy Crap!

Someone with my EXACT SAME name (middle initial and everything) has a facebook page.  Hmm.  How the #!$! does one view a facebook page.  Ah well.  Let's see someone else with my EXACT SAME name apparently has taken out some patents.  There's an Amazon profile, an Anesthesiologist, a dentist, a cardiac surgeon, a page for someone that has a contempt of court writ against them, but. .

Kester Pelagius is ALL me.  In fact the very first hit for Kester Pelagius was: http://www.badmovies.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1120

How about that!

One of the few advantages to having a name that's so insanely common as mine that some people even think I'm lying when I tell them who I am (Mike Smith), is that I'm almost impossible to google.  At least, google and get the REAL me.

Sometimes I think though maybe I should find info on some other MS who's done really well in his life somehow or other and use that to somehow post my resume/life options/fame or something.  :)

I've done this before. This time a site came up called intelius which listed the last four towns I've lived in and my wife and kids names.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

There should be a law against these sort of sites.

Although I did learn that someone with my exact same name lives in Niceville, FL.  Do you suppose the town really is nice?

My first name is one of the most common associated with my last name -- we tend to be Johns, Henrys, and Williams (I'm a William).  There's an anaesthesiologist, a bio-chemistry research scientist, a lawyer, and several soldiers sharing my name.

Freakiest was discovering that there was someone with the exact same name as me born in North Dakota 99 years to the day before I was born.  He passed away three months before my father was born.
