Covers that are way more awesome than the movie

This topic is an offshoot of the "bad VHS covers" thread. Box art that is more impressive and exciting than the movie itself. I'm talking about the extreme examples - cheap, crappy movies with covers that might not even resemble what's inside. I'll start us off with the totally misleading Warrior of the Lost World, although it could be argued that Persis Khambatta's name on the box counts as fair warning.

Actually, the names Robert Ginty, Persis Khambatta, and Donald Pleasence represent an unholy trio that could only end up together in a bad movie.

The front of the box looks amazing. The back of the box will give you an idea of what the movie is actually like. I wept bitter tears when I rented this one.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

Psycho Circus

Always loved this cover, but the film looks like it was shot on a personal camcorder.  :bluesad:

Looks like a hot and sexy chickboxing movie, eh?  Yeah, that's what I thought when I shelled out full retail price for it.  This is a lifetime movie of the week.  Eleniak spends the whole movie in in big, baggy potato-sack clothes that look like they came from the discount bin at Goodwill.

I actually own and like this one (it's bad but I found it enjoyable), but the cover art is of course more awesome than the film.

Wait, isn't that from a H.R. Giger-drawn metal album cover?  :buggedout:

Actually I think the Future-Kill cover was a commissioned piece IIRC, it is very similar though to some of the Debbie Harry KooKoo art Giger did. I still haven't seen this film, I must have passed it over dozens of times in the '80s despite having Edwin (Hitchhiker) Neal in it.
