Sir, you are completely correct.  The town pictured on that map is Geraldtown.  It's where you start, and the first town destroyed by Mantor.

Ahhh, dang!  If it had been Questron II I'd have gotten it for sure, as I spent hours playing that game when I was in Junior High.  I'm probably also one of the few people who got the reference to one of Andrew's Random Thoughts that went something like, "I don't know why Mesron kept resurrecting me, for the most I was a violent, anti-social bastard when I was alive."

Correct!  The bonus was to chase down the Spanish friend who "took" your DS with him to Mexico and go down there to get it back.  You're somewhat correct on the bonus, but not completely.

The second game is Ikari Warriors. Another one of the quarter munchers of my young adulthood of the 80's.  SNK made it.
