Yup, I was born in Africa and once Africa is in your blood, you can have 200 transfusions and you'll never get rid of Africa. Someone online (not here) told me that they'd seen my pic and were troubled about me being white and calling myself an African, when they thought to call yourself African, you needed to be black.

I said that if calling myself African and being white meant that I had to be black, then I was black and proud.

Oddly enough, I don't think most people would require someone to be white in order to be called European. Seems to only apply to white people growing up in other parts of the world. Then again, a white guy could hand me his Japanese birth certificate and I'd still feel weird calling him Japanese. I guess some nationalities are more closely associated with a particular race than others. In Canada, a real cultural hodgepodge, it isn't usually an issue.

Oh, and something nice about Trevor..... He likes Cookie Monster, who is far and away the best of the Sesame Street muppets.
