Multi-Part Question

This is a question that I feel only the bad movies community can answer. Answer as you know them.

1. Who are some more directors like Quentin Tarantino, especially in reflection of Pulp Fiction. I'm looking for someone who uses surreal comic violence, stylized characters, engaging action, and coolness (aesthetic) if possible. Feel free to answer with a movie.
2. Who are some more directors like John Waters, especially in parallel to Desperate Living or Polyester. I'm looking for someone who produces classy over-the-top trash. Feel free to answer with a movie name.
3. Who are some more directors like Harmony Kormine, only in reflection of Gummo. I like startling imagery that is grotesque, obscure, strange, weird, fun, etc.
4. What is a dreamlike movie like visual poetry, especially with music to enhance the imagery.
5. What are some directors that clearly make movies under the influence of Cannabis? For example, I believe that Quentin Tarantino moving to Amsterdam to write Pulp Fiction was partially due to the Cannabis culture. From what I've read, stylized violence, cartoonish perception, non-linear movement, fast movement alternating with slow movement, and paired-down emphatic imagery are the result of Cannabis use.

1.  Try KILLING ZOE, directed by Tarantino collaborator Roger Avary.  Or some Robert Rodriquez movies, especially EL MARIACHI.

2.  Just about any of Harry Novak's Box Office International movies available on "Something Weird" DVDs.  Or even some Russ Meyer movies.  Although, no one is as bizarre as Waters.

5. Um, that's a hard one.  In this day and age, most director's have probably smoked pot, but other than obvious stoner stuff (HALF BAKED, Cheech & Chong, DAZED AND CONFUSED) I can't think of movies that I think of as being "clearly made under the influence of cannabis."  To me, that's a bit like asking for "movies clearly made under the influence of alcohol"---a director could drink and make a movie in any genre. Richard Linklater (SLACKER, DAZED AND CONFUSED, WAKING LIFE) is clearly personally familiar with pot culture, but I don't think his movies exhibit all those traits you listed.

I don't have an answer for most of the questions, but I do have an answer for question #2. British film director Ken Russell. The British equivalent of John Waters, or, maybe, John Waters is the American equivalent of Ken Russell, but here are six films that are about equivalent to anything that John Waters has done.

Okay, you ask alot here, mister, but I like your questions.

1. Directors like QT?  Good luck.  I think you are better off researching him and finding out who influences him.  He has volumes to say about film, most of it good.

As for the rest, if you want dreamlike, weird, grotesque imagery, etc.  David Lynch is your man, from Blue Velvet to Mulholland Drive.  If you are ready to nightmarish, check out his first film, Eraserhead.  Amazing.  Also, if you can find it, see anything by Jan Svankmajer.  He is a Czech surrealist filmmaker who does alot of stop-motion animation combined with live-action.  Very surreal, nightmarish stuff. He did a version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland that was very disturbing and grotesque. 

I'm sure I could come up with lots more, but I think that will steer you into some good directions.
