Susan

I always thought i was because i can be laid back and quiet

But the other weekend i went out and me and a friend of mine were outside a bar while he smoked and some random guy walks into our conversation and starts talking about the theory of relativity and how he wants to change the world. He followed us inside to our group and when i got back from the restroom i heard he was talking about how he made dead bodies out of laytex and cotton.

laytex and cotton trumps quiet

I'm a film archivist [a job I've done 20 years in December 2009] and I deal with all sorts of people on a daily basis, film people (those who make 'em), people such as my family on this board (the people who like 'em) and basically anyone who has an interest in film or just remembers a film from wayyyyy back and would like to see it again.

As Al Pacino would say: "That's my life."  :teddyr:

Silly question but what exactly do you do as an archivist?  I mean, guess you categories films and stuff and make entries in databases about them but is there more to it than that?  (And no, I'm NOT being sarcastic, I'm just genuinely curious.)

Much more than that ~ screening films, writing synopses on each, assisting clients from all over the world, hiding my various pairs of undies in our cold rooms. Yeah, stuff like that.  :teddyr:
