Halloween 3 (The Season of the Witch) is "A Christmas Story" of Halloween. You cannot find another story that as focus to the Halloween Holiday as Halloween 3.

(Yep Halloween 3 is more focus on the Halloween Holiday then the 1978 original or the Rob Zombies version)

We watched this last week, 1st time I've seen it in well over a decade. Some of the effects are pretty outstanding, even if the story had a few cheese moments. On its on it stands as a very effective horror film. I like it actually better than any of the other sequels save Halloween II, and it has a truly chilling premise. It makes me wonder what could have been if Carpenter had stuck with his guns, and continued it as an anthology series instead of Michael Myers ad nauseam.

Hehe... I would suspect The Fog, The Thing and Prince of Darkness would be part of the Halloween series... :)

10/01:



Started my October viewings with two classics from 1973 - The Creeping Flesh and The Legend of Hell House. Haven't seen both in years and I really enjoyed the re-visit!

I haven't seen Night of the Demons but it's available for free On Demand so I'll have to check it out.  As for myself I'm going to try to at least watch these this month:

Going to watch my coy of John Capenter's The Thing.  Might pick up the Friday the 13th remake.  The Call of Cthulu silent film.And some of the more horror themed movies of my Sci-Fi 50 movies pack.

I watched Hellraiser Bloodlines the other night.  I think this year I'll concentrate somewhat on the older Gothic horror movies, Hammer stuff, and some Paul Naschy stuff.  And whatever I pull out of my DVD collection that I happen to be in the mood for

10/02: "In The Name Of Satan" TRIPLE FEATURE



1. I Drink Your Blood (1970) Fun exploitation about a group of satan lovers injected with rabies.
2. Werewolves on Wheels (1971) Rowdy biker gang turned into werewolves by devil worshipers. A bit bland but still ok.
3. The Devil's Rain (1975) William Shatner Vs. Ernest Borgnine in a tale about good versus evil satanists. Cheesy goodness.

I'm pretty much going to watch whatever.  So far, I've only watched Crazy Eights.  I don't recommend it.

SyFy has a couple of After Dark Horrorfest movies tomorrow night:  Dying Breed and Autopsy.  I haven't seen either one, and they look interesting.  I'll be checking those out.

10/04: "Warner Premiere" Double Feature



The Hills Run Red (2009) - After seeing what this movie was actually about I'm convinced that Warners 'forced' R-Rating and the director complaining about it was nothing but a publicity stunt That said, I really enjoyed this one. Much better than the usual DTV crap 4/5.

Trick 'r Treat (2008) Lucky me bought an early copy at a DVD convention today, sadly no Blu-rays though. But I'm fine with the standard DVD. Fun movie, not perfect but I'm still giving it 4/5.
