I worked for 14 years as a graphic artist (and still do to a small extent). During that time, I used Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign to do some of my work. I have been missing those programs since I quit that job, and now, thanks to my wife's teaching job (Yay educational software prices!), I once again have access to those programs. I got the Adobe Creative Suite just yesterday and installed it. I can once again play with photos, make vector art (actually, I already could do that with CorelDraw, but I can do more now), and lay out better brochures, flyers, etc.

Play time, here I come!

Oh I love that educational discount for software.  I have Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements, but I hardly ever use them.  I mostly use GIMP, Inkscape and KDENlive.  Open source is so fun!

I tried GIMP, but I just couldn't get it to do what I wanted it to do. I have too many years of Photoshop experience, and no other photo editing software does what Photoshop does. I'm not trying to be elitist or anything here, but I've just had much better luck with Photoshop than with anything else.
