Good lord...I just got in after 3 to 4 hours (I lost track) of snow battling.  I need a nap although my neighbor will need some help getting his car out later.
here's a trick- buy sand and mix it with water
yeah no.

The snowstorm crapped out before it reached Louisville--possibly one inch overnight, all melted by this afternoon.

It's been raining here in Newfoundand all day. Almost all the snow is gone. Looking more and more like another green Christmas  :bluesad: Years back, we always seemed to have mainly white Christmases but now they seem to be getting rarer.

It hasn't snowed as much as usual here in Maine... but the ice and cold brutal.

I'm here in Philly, and got a nice 24 inches or so of snow.

Now, normally, I LOVE snow.  Love, love, love it.

But, when I had to WALK to work during the blizzard because : A.) no bus route goes from my house to work, and B.) I have no car, then walk home an hour later, because, to quote my manager: "We're not busy."  No s**t Sherlock.  When there's a BLIZZARD, people don't suddenly get the urge to go grab a couple burgers from the local burger joint...

Shoveled... snow... all day... there's still more.  Probably 22-24 inches.

I like to see just enough snow to cover things on Christmas but not enough to keep people from seeing friends and family or to hinder other plans.

Well...the drive to work was good at some points fair/poor in others.  The city where I work at seemed to have plowed down the road once if I were to venture a guess.

I have to get to my shed today.  I think theres a snow drift there about 5 feet tall.

Our house is in a cul-de-sac, and yesterday there was a backhoe (probably hired by the homeowners association) moving the snow out of the road.  He pushed most of the snow in the cul-de-sac circle into a large pile in our front yard.  It's probably 8 feet tall.  My kids are in heaven.

I had to rescue Jenna from a drift yesterday because she was stuck.  It was almost up to her armpits and she had lost her boot.  She is 6, almost 7, and very tall her her age.

Clearing out our very long driveway left me a little sore today, which is impressive.

I live in Massachusetts, north of Boston.  We got around 5 or 6 inches of snow, but the weather reports said Boston got more and Cape Cod really got whacked.

Here in IL we just got flurries.   :bluesad:   a light dusting on the ground is all. I hope we get more before xmas.

There is such a wide range in the New England area.  My brother lives about an hour outside of Worcester and got 2 inches of snow.  Same with my mother who lives in Western, MA.  Meanwhile in RI we got our @sses kicked.

Well it took me 2 hours to get into work today, when normally it takes me 20mins on the bus. All the roads were caked in heavy snowfall and the council hadn't bothered to send out any gritters.

Torgo

I live in Roanoke, VA and the official snow measurement at the airport was 17.6 inches.
It was the biggest snow fall we've had since January 1996.  We usually only average 22 inches of snow total each year so mother nature was getting a jump on the start of winter this year for sure!
