It's an Asylum release, and is obviously a cash-in because they're actually going into pre-production for a big budget version of Burrough's quite fun first Barsoomian novel featuring John Carter.

It came out on DVD today, and apparently features a scantily clad Traci Lords.  That's a bonus, I guess.  The film looks like they actually have a decent amount of stuff from the books, though toned down a lot (the green martians, the people who've captured John Carter in the trailer, are like 12 feet tall and have four arms in the novels).

Still though, while a bad trailer, it shows some potential.  But it IS an Asylum release, so it goes into bad movies!

Anyone seen it yet?

I'll definitely pick it up when the used copies of the DVD's get down in the $5 range.  The trailer looks kind of good, and I generally enjoy Asylum movies - their last couple of efforts notwithstanding.
