I'm a Mac...

« on: January 07, 2010, 01:02:35 AM »

There was a thread about what we all consider to be the best series finale.  I think we ought to have a thread about what we all would consider to be the worst final episode.  Since I started the thread I'll go first.

Star Trek: Voyager.  I really didn't like the cut off feeling to the episode, it felt like there should've been more to it than what we got when they finally did get home.  It didn't feel resolved to me.

I know that about two other people on this board might have heard of this show, but the Corner Gas last episode was really weak.  It just wasn't very funny at all.  Plus, all the previews for it kept building it up to be amazing.  Nope.

By the way, Corner Gas is a Canadian show, filmed in Saskatchewan. (WOOT!)  Twirling

I didn't think much of the final episode of Northern Exposure.Come to think of it,all I remember is some woman singing a song I am guessing called,Our Town, while we see brief glimpses of Ed,Maurice,Elaine, etc going about their lives as a moose walks through the streets.

The last episode of Night Court.  Bull goes to live on Jupiter.  Yup, pretty stupid.

I believe Seinfeld is the worst last episode I ever saw ... by a long, longshot.

The last episode of Batman Beyond was pretty crappy, too.  Oh, so Terry was actually Bruce's son?  That undermined the entire series, as far as I'm concerned.

Yes, so he could reach things on the alien men's top shelves.  That was pretty awful.

Sopranos comes to mind immediatley for my nomination.

I agree with that.  The second one for me was My Name is Earl.  What a let down.   Thumbdown

Teen Titans: I was a good show and the ending was alright.  The problem was that the show ended too soon and there were too many unanswered questions that have been left over from past episodes.  I think they could have gone a whole another season to finished everything up satsifactory.

Corner Gas is a great show, but the last season or two were starting to get a little weak in general. Probably better that it ended while it was still good. I don't think I saw the final episode.

I think St. Elsewhere has probably the stupidest finale that has ever been created or will ever be created for a TV show.

On the other hand, the Tommy Westphall Universe theory is pretty amusing at least.

Haven't seen it myself, but I'm told in the finale of Roseanne, it's revealed the whole series was in the main character's mind, and it was her way of dealing with the knowledge that her husband was killed years ago.

Er... okay.

Course, considering the last season has the family winning the lotterry and all sorts of other crazy s**t, I guess someone felt they had to top everything somehow.
