I greatly enjoyed the review. I'd actually like to see the film again, since it's been years since I watched it.

I remember it first came on my radar because somebody on the Straight Dope Message Board had a quote from the film regarding Bingo Gas Station Motel Cheeseburger With A Side Of Aircraft Noise And You'll Be Gary Indiana in their signature. Luckily at that time Netflix actually had copies available to watch.

Truly a weird film.

To anybody else interested in the movie, here's a link to Andrew's review. If you compare and contrast with the good Rev.'s analysis, maybe you might be able to figure out just what Robert Downey, Sr. was trying to get at. (But probably not.)
