In hollywood, do the movie executives just thow darts at a wall of movie titles to pick their next project? I mean, come on, some of these sequels/remakes were too painful the first time around.

Yes. Then when their done they line up director name and throw darts at the poor son of a b*tch that's going to destroy his carrier. The entire outer ring of the dart circle is George Lucas.
