Dario Argento: Deep Red.

David Lynch: The Straight Story and Eraserhead. I also liked Dune too.

Coen Brothers: Fargo and O Brother Where TF Art Thou.
No Country For Old Men made me cry at the end.

Quentin Tarantino: Reserver Rerserr ~ oh, dammit, that place that holds water with some dogs nearby.

Steven Spielberg: Duel, Raiders and Jaws.

Argento: Suspiria

David Lynch: Blue Velvet

Coen Bros: Fargo (Honorable mention to Oh Brother...)

Tarantino: Pulp Fiction

Spielberg: Toss up between Shindler's List (though not a "feel good" movie by any means, still an excellent film) and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
"When I die, I hope you will use my body creatively." - Shin Chan

"Tonight, we will honor the greatest writers in America with a modest 9 by 12 certificate and a check for three thousand dollars...three thousand dollars? Stephen King makes more than that for writing boo on a cocktail napkin." - Jimmy Breslin

thanks for voting, interesting to see what people's preferences are.
heres a breakdown so far of the number of different films voted for, per director

ARGENTO - 5
LYNCH - 8
COEN BROS - 8
TARANTINO - 5
SPEILBERG - 6

from 17 lists, that's pretty good proof of each directors consistency.

sometimes I think of Tarantino as a 'one film wonder' with pulp fiction but that obviously isn't the case.

I think I need to check out The Elephant Man, never seen it. didnt actually realise it was a David Lynch film. I would also recommend any one who hasn't see Wild At Heart to give it a try(even if you don't like Nic Cage)
