Dumb question,

I have seen American Ninja and I saw American Ninja 4, Annihilation.

Here is my question,

How many American Ninja movies were there?

I tried to look this up but got no where.

Let me know.

Thanks,

John

Wow.  I wonder if they have a box set?   :tongueout:

Just kidding.  I will have to track down all five and have a miny marathon.

Thanks Retrorussell.

American Ninja
American Ninja 2: The Confrontation
American Ninja 3: Blood Hunt
American Ninja 4: The Annihilation
American Ninja 5

Parts 3 and 4 were directed by a good friend of mine.   And then, there's the version that I made:

American Ninja 6: The Constipation  :buggedout: :buggedout:

Do your underpants actually have a credited role in that one?

No problem.
Not really a special box set as yet.  You can get the first 3 all together in one box in the UK (only on Region 2) but no special features.

I always felt that Steve James was the real American Ninja. You just know who could have put a real hurtin' on Michael Dudikoff.

I would watch if they came out with American Idol Ninja.  I don't care much for musicals, but a ninja musical?  I'm there!

Yeah, I wonder whatever happened to Michael Dudikoff?  He, Carl Weathers, and Steve James would have been a great addition to The Expendables given their own respective contributions to the action movie genre..

They need to get someone like Shout! Factory or Blue Underground to release all of the American Ninja films in a deluxe Blu-Ray box set! Have commentary tracks and stuff on them. I would buy that!  :bouncegiggle: :drink:

I believe there was also a non-related sequel called Ninja III: The domination. Nothing to do with Michael Dudikoff. Instead it's about a ninja who gets killed by the police after a massacre and ends up possessing a young woman. Enter Sho Koshugi as ninja / exorcist. Lots of fun.
Due to the horrifying nature of this film, no one will be admitted to the theatre.

I remember that movie.  I don't remeber the other Ninja movies.  HMMM.  I will have to seek them out.

Steve James unfortunately died in 1993.  I've heard it suggested by several people that James would have been a successful leading man in quite a few action films of the 80s if he'd been white.  Something was going on there, anyway - he had charisma to spare, and could definitely perform in the action sequences.

Dudikoff...  He has two new movies coming out, but there was a 7 year gap.  Maybe taking time off?  I've seen some newer videos of him on youtube - apparently he has been peripherally involved in MMA stuff, or at least is a fan of it.  Dunno though.  I do know American Ninja is one of my favorite bad movies though - it's a 10 in my book.  Too bad the sequels aren't as good.

I've seen the first four America Ninja films.  I like the first two, and I didn't care for three and four.  Three was watchable, but four just awful.

The first film is one of my favorite films of all time next to Best of the Best, and Best of the Best 2.  I haven't watched this film in a few years so I think it almost time for me to do another rewatch.

Ninja III has nothing to do with the American Ninja films. They part of the Sho Kosugi ninja films which are by far worse than the American Ninja ones when it comes to badness.
