New Disturbing Trend: okay, we all knew Behind Enemy Lines was an hour-and-a-half long ad for the armed forces (The Final Countdown remains Hollywood's most spectacular, astonishing failure in making a recruitment film, but BEL comes second), but now the commercials for the video release actually CONTAIN a US Navy ad. Would I be "unpatriotic" to suggest that this is neither good (I don't need ads inside ads, thanks) nor effective (Owen Wilson? Ha ha ha ha ha ha!)?

More proof that good intentions can go horribly wrong. That is, assuming good intentions were at work.....likely just rideing natural patriotisim to a bigger bank account. Wasen't this flick made before 9-11? Not suprising they used the times to sail into a bigger box office, just disappointing. What would a good, respectable patriotic include, do you think? One, a realistic, honest addmition that death is a real, serious risk, and you'd better not take on a military job lightly. Ask Andrew about that one. You do it because you know the risks, but believe what your fighting for is right. Corse....subjective belief in what is right is not so easy to identify. Look at Isreal these days. Is blowing your self up, to kill civilians right? I don't think so, not in the slightest. But what do you do with those who believe otherwise? (Sigh).....sorry, my mind has just boggled, and i need to lay down awhile.

They did that with Men Of Honor too.
