I hate LAST HOUSE and often proclaim such on this forum and elsewhere.  It's not memorable exactly, you just reach a point of desensitization and drag your eyes around the screen for the rest of that horrid film.  It's very important, and is now unfortunately a must-see.  I get it.  I just don't like it.  I hate it, so maybe it's exactly what you're looking for.  There's also MAKE THEM DIE SLOWLY, I'd expect readily available, and vile.

I was surprised to find that Last House on the Left was based on an earlier Ingmar Bergman film called The Virgin Spring.

A friend of mine posted that a local theater was showing The Virgin Spring, or as he liked to call it, Three Men and a Little Lady, which is the most despicable joke I wish I had written myself.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I'm curious about Antichrist. I've also noticed that it's streaming on NetFlix but haven't gotten around to watching it. I just haven't been motivated lately to watch films that will depress me. I am interested in it, however. I understand that it contains unsimulated sex, but I don't know how graphic it gets in that regard. Does NetFlix show a version that is edited in any way? Not that I'm particularly interested in seeing unsimulated sex (I can always watch porn if I want that), I just prefer to see films as they were intended.

There's a penetration shot that's only 1-2 seconds long, a graphic masturbation scene (not in closeup), an erect penis, and a graphic closeup of female genitalia.  I don't know for sure that the Netflix streaming version is totally uncut, but I would expect it to be.  Other films I've seen there with graphic content have been uncut--that includes the penetration scene in TAXIDERMIA.
I'll take you places the hand of man has not yet set foot...

IFC with commercials: you ain't missin' so much, 'cept they don't censor language or content... maybe it makes sense since all of the film is there if you're willing to put up with them damned c'mmershills.

Oh!  SPOORLOOS is a Dutch and French co-production.

Oh yeh, how 'bout THE HILLS HAVE EYES?

What all of these films have in common is violation of the female character.

Have you seen TWO WOMEN?  Have you seen LA DOLCE VITA?  Have you seen LADY IN A CAGE?

Very true, it depends on ones point of view.  Often times that idea is very disturbing.  I tend to not like it as I feel uncomfortable.  I tend to not like such scenes.  I don't like the new Hills Have Eyes for that reason.  It is something I find disturbing.  I prefer things that don't use such situations so highly.  However,  on that same note it tends to be things that people find most disturbing.  I would prefer avoiding it when possible.  However, it is hard.

I will take your word on  Last House.  It is merely the ending and I understand the basic principle just not the specific.  I didn't actually enjoy it to be honest.  There are some I like and some I dislike.

However, I understand a difference in feeling for instance Hills Have Eyes disgusts me not really terrifying.  There is a bit where I wonder whether film is horrifying or disgusting.  Disgusting is usually more shock value, where terror or horror is often times more subtle.  For instance, with very little additional information in Spoorloos one is terrified by the simple fact your mind plays on you.  Wondering the specifics and stark realizations.  It happens all in the mind.

Cannibal Holocaust & Cannibal Ferox. I couldn't wait to finish these two movies, definitely the most uncomfortable I have ever been watching a movie.

Agree on Cannibal Holocaust, quite the experience.  Eventhough you feel no sympathy for the main characters, some of those scenes are disturbing...expecially the rape scene towards the end.  Own a copy I've watched once...havent brought myself to watch again.

I just received Henry last night and watched it.  I have to say what happens isn't so problematic as the characters and the implications.  For instance, Otis and his overt perversion is not something I find enjoyable and then Henry with his almost detachment from humanity.  That was very hard to think on when all is digested.

Martyrs I found rather mmmmm.  I liked the build up but then felt it fell weak in the second part.  As you understand what was going on then it seemed clinical and the shock value left.  Would have been nice to continue keeping you in the dark till the end and would have been more horrific only after the fact to find out why.  I must say the the imagery was disturbing though.
