Lee Frost, the director (?) of such films as HOUSE ON BARE MOUNTAIN (1963),LOVE CAMP 7 (1969), and the BLACK GESTAPO (1975)-among many other jewels of cinematic lovliness, goes semi mainstream with 1974's POLICE WOMEN.
Sondra Currie is Lacy-a kung fu (if thats what you wanna call it) fighting police woman (surprise!) who is sent out on an assignment to bust up a gold smuggling ring. Jeannie Pepper (of TNT JACKSON fame!!!!) is also a (ahem!) kung fu-ing cop who is working the same case undercover. Our story starts...ahhh...the hell with the story. Watch an episode of Charlies Angels-that kinda thing. BUT that doesnt mean this isnt worth a look! For one-there are LOTS of scanty clad chicks ( yes CHICKS. This is a 70's movie!). Sondra Currie's nipples look like theyre about to switchblade right thru her shirt in one scene! And of course both the main stars git nekid!  Also.... Tuff guy William Smith gets kicked in the nuts! 3-count em-3!!! cat fights! One involving a boat load of bikini clad wimmins! And Lacy beats up a big mongoloid named Doc. Doc,by the way,is the henchman/boy toy of Maude- the 80 year old head of a "Female Mafia!"
All very silly crap....but FUN silly crap! Like watching a 70's tv show with boobies, swearing and some of the worst acting then youve ever seen on the boob tube. Recommended.

Ok, I'm sold. #1 in my Netflix queue. This looks fun-ky.

My old IMDB comments on it...

Lacy Bond Kicks You Know What.

A beautiful, albeit deadly, young policewoman named Lacy Bond (Sondra Currie) is recruited to help bring down a new all-girl gang.

This film is aimed squarely at drive-in film fans who like their stories with a little touch of female exploitation. Well, this film is nowhere near as sleazy as its opening credits would seem to suggest so some may be disappointed.

Ultimately this is a film that Almost Works: the fight scenes are surprisingly good, there's a coherent plot that's easy to follow and our leading lady proves easy to like as well as easy on the eyes. Yes this almost works...in terms of a serious film...

But Not Quite...why?

Well for one thing there's a few too many underdeveloped characters. Another is how the all-girl gang likes to spend most of their time sunning themselves in bikinis....also the ending really stretches the credibility a bit too far...

Still all in all this is sometimes quite a lot of FUN to watch. My favorite scenes include Lacy kicking butt in police uniform when the prisoners make a break, what happens when she takes on William Smith, and when she saves someone (I won't say who) from a severe beating at the hands of five vicious bikini-wearing babes?! Somewhat ahead of its time given the 90s-2000s craze in television for this type of stuff.
