Rock producer and promoter Don Kirshner dies at 76

If you were a teenager during the 70s his Rock Concerts were your MTV.

RIP, Mr. Kirshner, and thanks for the music.
If you're an Andy Milligan fan there's no hope for you.

I remember seeing KISS,LED ZEPPILIN,AEROSMITH,ALICE COOPER,FLEETWOOD MAC,the SWEET... they even had comedians on it sometimes-I recall seeing George Carlin. Dam.

O wow, this is sad news.

Just the other day, someone mentioned him in reference to folks (here, I think) not knowing who he was...

I saw this on the news tonight, thanks for posting Raffine.  I also saw many of DON KIRSHNER's Rock Concerts

And so do we middle of the road 40-somethings appreciate Mr. Kirshner too!   I remember this show somewhat well as a pre-teen in the early 70's as my mom watched it a lot. 

At that time I was unfamiliar with some of the music the bands had, but the names were very fresh in my mind at the time as they later became household words in the fields of rock, hard, rock, and metal (in the case of Kiss and Montrose, to name a few.)

Kirshner also had something to do with The Monkees as well.
