Hmmm. Well, there's thematic darkness and then there's just that feels dark.

I've always thought Type O-'s stuff feels very dark.

Then there are songs that have an inexplicable dark feel to them that you wouldn't expect. There is a song by Elvis Costello called I Want You. It's very disturbingly obssessive and I feel very uncomfortable listening to it. I'm a big EC fan but I have difficulty listening to this song and usually skip forward.

Anybody remember the early 70's group 'Bloodrock' and their uplifting anthem D.O.A.?

Laying here, looking at the ceiling,
Someone lays a sheet across my chest.
Something warm is flowing down my fingers
Pain is flowing all through my back.

I try to move my arm and there's no feeling
And when I look, I see there's nothing there.
The face beside me stopped bleeding
The girl I knew has such a distant stare.

etc.

Our local Dairy Queen knock-off had this on their jukebox for years.
We used to listen to this while munching hamburgers and slurping chocolate shakes.

Good times! Smile

^ Instantly generates a mental image of a pack of teen zombies chowing down.   TeddyR  Thanks for that!
