Well, I took all of your comments and thoughts into consideration, and tonight I rented this movie and watched it again.  I tried to be nit-picky and critical, and to think my earlier reaction to this movie was adrenalin-fueled euphoria.
Couldn't do it.

I STILL LOVE THIS FILM!!!!

As a matter of fact, thus far, this is the movie of the year for me.  I  simply MUST buy a copy next payday.

Well I hope to check out this movie soon, now that the DVD is coming out.  Like I suspected, it is an extended edition (hopefully that means it's uncut), so I hope to get the real full experience out of it.

I'm not sure on Sucker Punch.  There are moments I enjoyed but I didn't like the overall.  For some reason, I think it would have been better if the entire movie remained in her head.
Ah, the good old days.

I think I'll check it out at some point. I'm not expecting it to be great or anything, but I imagine there's some good fun in there somewhere.

The DVD seems to be the Theatrical Release. The Blu-Ray package includes the extended cut in both Blu-Ray and DVD plus a digital version. What the hell? Someone is either going to buy the blu-ray or the dvd. Who the hell is going to buy both? It makes no sense. I'm not spending $25 to buy three discs if I'm only going to watch one.

They're packaging DVDs and Blu-rays together like this more and more often.  My guess is they're aiming at people who may be thinking about upgrading to BR in the near future, so they won't have to double-dip if they upgrade.

Well, there's that and the fact that the BR won't play in a standard DVD player, so the purchaser has both options. At least that's what I thought was the point. Rev may have a point.

I just watched this movie for the THIRD time, and it gets better every time.  This one is definitely in my all time top ten list, and maybe even top five.  I understand it a little more every time I see it.  Lots of eye candy, to be sure, but this is a very, very deep film.

I love it!

I really wanted to like this movie but in the end it left me cold.

Zack Snyder did the impossible with "Sucker Punch." He took what should've been a can't miss concept - a bazillion dollar action flick with a cast made up almost entirely of scantily clad hot women -- and somehow he managed to make it BORING.

I felt like I was standing behind someone in an arcade watching them play a video game the whole time.

Watched this the other night with my girlfriend and her main comment was 'is Zack Snyder trolling?'

Looked up a review that was amusing and filled with quotes like this:

"Babydoll returns from Planet Gyrate to the magical brothel of dreams, and hatches a plan to escape, using the instructions of Mystical Kimono Dude - they must procure a map, a knife, fire, a key, and... something else. The final element, much like on Captain Planet, must be discovered by Babydoll through the course of their adventures.

And those adventures involve, variously, kablammo-ing a horde of steampunk Nazi zombie soldiers, committing dragon infanticide, and dismantling a bomb on a train heading toward the International Daft Punk Cosplayers Convention. "

and particularly telling:

"Here's a different way to experience Sucker Punch: open a bunch of tabs; in one, go to YouTube, load up Leeroy Jenkins; load up Suicide Girls in another tab; then take a bunch of downers and flick furiously between the two tabs while you play the Godzilla and Spawn soundtracks"

I still like the movie overall, but am under no illusions as to how much the movie plays out like a 14 year old boys fantasy flick.

I still think it is a beautiful and sensitive restatement of man's place in the universe, and the power of love to triumph over all.

Gina and I caught this on TV a couple weeks back.  We spent the entire time groaning and looking at each other and asking, "What the hell are we watching?" and then flipped over to Ernest Goes To Jail for something a little more thought-provoking.

It's been playing like crazy on cable but I haven't brought myself to watch it but a couple of ten minute segments or so. I know Indy loves it, I can't say if it sucks or not, but I have to say, despite a pervy fascination Emily Browning, I still can't generate enough interest to sit down and watch it.
