When it really comes down to it-ask someone to inmatate Dracula-do the do Christopher Lee? Or John Carradine? Both actors portrayed the role more than Lugosi.
No.
They do Lugosi,
Bela is DRACULA.

Damn right! Although, Christopher Lee did it well. And everytime he played Dracula he always wore a silver thing on his costume as a tribute to Legosi which is cool and classy.

Lee wore the original Dracula crest ring that Lugosi wore in the first film. It was given to him by sci fi fan and horror historian Forrest J. Ackerman!

After I finish 6 movies I borrowed from the library I will continue on with the Béla pack that was in my signature a while ago. I felt a needed a break from Béla for a while, it was like I was overdosing on his movies. Too much of a good thing I guess will do that.

Here's what I got left to finish in the Béla Lugosi pack:  Devil Bat, The (1941); Corpse Vanishes, The (1942); Bowery at Midnight (1942); Ape Man, The (1943); and  Scared to Death (1947).

I'm looking forward to them greatly.

The Devil Bat is the best out of all of those.

A fine actor, a determined and sometimes tormented individual.
But he never quit trying to face down his personal demons and
continue his career.  There is a lesson in that.

Today I finally got around to seeing Dracula!

Lugosi along with everyone else was great.

And I can now see why most people didn't like Van Helsing movie which came out in 2004.

He was in the army?

Indeed he was-and after his service in he got involved with politics-because he joined a quasi communist faction that opposed dictator Bela Kun-and fled for his life to Germany-did some films there-than stowed away on a boat and that brought him to us-the U.S.!
I own six books on Bela Lugosi!  :buggedout:
