Off on my travels again....

At the end of June, I go here: www.innibos.co.za to screen films and to honour my mentor Jans Rautenbach. Then, with hardly chance to draw breath or change my undies

, I go here www.volksbladfees.co.za to screen films there too. The regulars will know and remember ~ as if they could ever forget ~ that the Bloemfontein festival was the one where I got a serious bout of food poisoning in 2008 and was stretchered out of the hotel to the hospital, screaming, pooping, vomiting, crying, howling ~ all that from a steak and French fries ~ but generally feeling OK.

I am staying in that same hotel again ~ I am going to live on pizza, fish and chicken.

All I'm not looking forward to is the cold: in July 2009, the early morning temperature in Bloemfontein was -5 degrees celsius once.

I see you remember that joke that Brother Cheezeflix made about me needing those bearers ~ my reaction to that has always been

. I must remind him that they are needed on the 10th July to carry posters, film projectors, stands, reels, DVDs and my luggage (and me) to Bloemfontein, plus-minus 500 kms.
