What sort of format story does it need to be?  Short story/screenplay, feature etc.  There are limits of what you can do in either format, such as the traditional three act arc in a feature quite often gets cut down to a basic set up and joke in a short film format. [I'm generalising, but that seems to be the 'safe' way of doing things.]

Are you required to make it or just write it?  If just write it, that gives you heaps of options to make it however you want.

I have to write it, as well as produce screenshots to go with the story, and it doesn't have to be a full screenplay, only a plotline.

Thanks for the suggestions guys these are pretty good

Jokes aside, what kind of enviroment do you live in? Are there woods around? Or do you live downtown? A suburbia?
Just so I could see where the film would take place.

Awesome.  That's much easier then, since all you'll have to do is do a photoshoot and produce a cool story, but it could be as outlandish or as simple as you like.

If you're in the woods, check out this trailer:

You could get some awesome shots with a story like this: something spooky, supernatural in the forest.  It could also be 'classy' rather than schlock horror.

Horror is definitely what you need to do. perferably a camper slasher or a zombie flick.

A witch doctor cast a spell which was suppose to raise the dead, but ends up raising dead animals, which terrorize and rapes people, including the witch doctor.

Sounds painful.  And probably won't get favour for it within traditional academic streams.   Thats the film you make in secret whilst completing the degree!

Nightowl is right. That could be ideal for a horror movie. I can see a lone camper looking around in the woods, seeking the unknown presence that's following him/her...

I finished my story. I went with an idea my friend and I created for a cop film.

if you guys still want to share your movie ideas, this might be a cool topic though

Kaseykockroach

A boy and girl in high school fall in love, despite the girl's relationship with an abusive, violent bully, which escalates one afternoon into the boy getting brutally beaten and humiliated in front of the entire school. Later that night, the boy sneaks out to see the girl, only to be caught by the bully and his thugs, mauled, carried off and thrown into the hippo exhibit at the local zoo. After getting ripped apart, the boy is left is a comatose state, and brought to an emergency hospital. The mad doctor declares him dead so he can use his brain for his own personal, psychotic experiments in his basement. The looney doctor manages to implant the boy's brain into the body of a chicken. Eventually escaping the laboratory in the doctor's basement, the boy in the chicken's body eventually finds his love, and is eventually able to convince her who he is (communicating through pecks, one peck for yes and two pecks for no, and ba-kawks). Thus, the two journey forth to find a more suitable body, while the bully finds out and rounds up every employee at Chik-Fil-A and KFC to help him try to kill the chicken, or abduct the damsel and force her to marry him or else cook the chicken.

Another idea is that 87% of the world has died and only a man and a bagel can save it from total destruction from mutant potato spiders.

Kaseykockroach

A boy and a girl fall in love, but the boy eventually discovers a dark secret about his new love: An unfortunate encounter with a wicked voodoo priest many years ago led to a curse being put on her. Each time she makes any kind of love beyond a hug, a year from her life expectancy is subtracted. The boy must dedicate himself to working with this, despite the girl's voluptuous appearance. Will he succumb to his selfish urges? Or will he prove his true, genuine love to her?
