The BEAT GOES ON Game! Like the Sonny & Cher song. One line, then one rhyme.

Okay folks, new game:
Make up a line in the keeping of the Sonny & Cher song "The Beat Goes On".  Hopefully a line that isn't too short or too long, so that it's close to the timing of the S&C song.  Like:

I walked down to the local record store..

Then another poster will put up a rhyming line, that does not have to be related:

I bought a Jumbo Jack for $2.54.

Perhaps so as not to confuse people as to which turn you're taking maybe put the number of line you're at, like the first poster says 1., then the next, 2.  And maybe on the 4th add an addendum of "And the beat goes on.. the beat goes on.." after their line (and maybe also "la de da de dee.. la de da de die.")  We could start over at 1. after the 4th line.  But one line per person at a time, please.

I'll start.

1.) I spilled barbecue sauce all over my pants..

Now somebody else go with 2.).
