OK, it's an amateur, not a professional effort (how appropriate!).  But, it exists.

I'm not going to download and play it, but if you do please tell us what you think!

I've played  a little bit over an hour of this game and have the feeling that I'm pretty close to the end.

Right off the bat you can choose between Micheal and ... whatever his wife was named.  I forget and it seems like they'll each have their own story.

One thing that REALLY surprised me is that this is not a straight take on the movie. Nor is it done in camp. It's taking the basic idea for it, stretching it and twisting it, and turning it into something that really only vaguely resembles the movie.

For instance, most of Micheal's story involves him exploring a huge temple underneath the inn, where he meets a mysterious little girl named Debbie and discovers his marriage might not be as happy as he thought it was.

So far, Torgo has played only a tiny role in his story and I have yet to see any hellhounds, people making out by the side of the road, or hear the famous Torgo theme. ... a mixed blessing really.

It's not a bad game, but it's really not what you would expect.

Must have been made by someone who's used RPG Maker VX for less than 30 minutes.
Hell I think I'll make some MANOS sprites now and get back to you for giggles.

Not bad!  Torgo would be a challenge, I imagine.

I'm working on Torgo. He's incredibly hard to do. Mostly because of that damn hat he's always wearing.

I spent about an hour on the Master. He's pretty easy. I would have put the red hands on his robe, but I was too afraid that I'd make the sprite too messy with PhotoShop. If anyone can get me a small hat sprite I'd be grateful but as it stands Torgo is damn near impossible.

At least it has that going for it.

I figured his walk would be the hard part.

I can make him walk silly if I want. Not that hard.  TeddyR
