Ennio Morricone
Philip Glass
Nick Cave
John Carpenter

I got those from the top of my head. I wouldn't be surprised if I overlooked some I really like that deserve to be in the list more.

Oh, good call on Robert Rodriguez.  I'd forgot about him!

My top five, in no particular order.

Quentin Tarantino
Alfred Hitchcock
Wes Craven
Eli Roth (Also known as The bear Jew)
And Tim Burton

I probably have over looked some directors, I know there are others whose name's I can't remember. But Quentin Tarantino is deffinatly my favorite director off all time. And the rest mentioned were mentioned for their own reasons.
Then I did not just look into the mirror, I looked through the mirror...

Rev. Powell

Ennio Morricone
Bernard Hermann
John Barry

Sergei Prokofiev was more talented than any of the above, but he only wrote 3 film scores and "Lt. Kije" was the only one that was any good.
