I deleted my FB account last night.

Oh.  Darn.  Guess I will have to keep checking on you here then.  I had better come up with BM.org-worthy material for posting.

Newt-your opinion on the weather is BM org. material here. You being here makes it a better place-always.
And I think that of all my BAD MOVIE family.

Aw, Ronnie, you're making me cry.

I have a big jar of home-made iced tea, lots of books (some of 'em musty) and darn it if there aren't mothballs in the garden next to the porch!  You are most welcome to drop by any time at all. (I know it cannot happen: but I'll save you a seat and be thinking of you).

Hi anyone else here think this facebook is a bunch of crap?Ive gotten where i hate it and about to stop going to it.It says its good for making friends but when u go on there noone ever says hello to u.

Facebook is not a forum, it's a social network. People post about things they are doing, funny things that happened, share music videos, or just post silly stuff, and if someone sees it in their news feed and wants to comment...they can. Just going on there and waiting for somebody to say hello is not going to work.

I'm glad you posted about that here, because otherwise I would have been wondering if I did something to upset you. Unfortunately Facebook does not tell you why someone disappears from your friends list; though it would be a nice feature for them to add so people don't wonder if someone defriended or blocked them.

Putting personal business and drama on there is the same nowadays as broadcasting stuff to the world and I really believe some just use it hoping to get their share of fame with their friends. Me, I hate personal drama BS and this is the worst element of Facebook.

Yeah...why put it on Facebook where you can control who sees it and who doesn't and instead put it on a public forum to which anybody has access?  :tongueout:

Facebook is definitely not for everybody...and there are some people on there I wish would get the point that it shouldn't be for them either.

It's definitely not perfect, but it is a phenomenon which has attracted scores of people to it and has allowed many to reconnect with friends they have lost touch with.

Now say if you are an anti-social person who hangs on a bad movies forum whining all the time (just purely for example), then there are probably not many people who would want to talk to you anyway and Facebook would probably not be your cup of tea.

As I said, though, Facebook is not perfect and one of their biggest issues is a lack of response to their users. When Facebook wants to make a change, they make a change regardless how it affects anyone. I've switched to primarily using their mobile version because their regular website is becoming such a bloat to just try to load in a browser. Actually an older netbook I have, which I only use when I'm at a friend's house or otherwise out, had the browser lock up just trying to access the regular Facebook site.

Another thing is what I call pity parties. There are some who post about how everybody hates them, then their friends come and pat them on the back and tell it's not true and anybody who doesn't like them is a jerk. It gets annoying, but they are people and having an outlet for that and people who will talk to them might be doing them some good eventually.

But it does come down to if someone can't make friends and pushes people away from them, then Facebook is definitely not for them.

Facebook May Not Be So Friendly For Those With Low Self-Esteem

It's a bulletin board.

I always wonder about those who get so worked up about the whole thing. It's a bulletin board. I've got several friends who are adamant against it like it's the first step to an apocalypse.

It's a bulletin board. Just the latest iteration.

I log on, look at pictures of my friend's goober kids, and maybe a link to a funny video with a dog playing poker. Then I log out and I'm done. I see what my friends are up to, and maybe some acquaintances I only tangentially care about.

I guess it's a bunch of crap, if you view this whole "internet" thing as a passing fad.

It's a bulletin board. If you're super against it, you should remember that this forum is yet another bulletin board. Chin chin.

EDIT: I forgot the rest of the stuff I was going to say.

I used to use Facebook to post some really acerbic stuff that I thought was funny. Now almost my entire family is on Facebook, so I have to be a little bit more careful about what I say. (Sorry, Mom!)

Also, I find it amusing that there are some things that are only BM worthy. Yes, I'm adolescent enough to always find that funny.
Every dead body that is not exterminated becomes one of them. It gets up and kills. The people it kills, get up and kill.

I just can't get into things like that.  I don't trust them.  Friends, family, and co-workers do not all need access to the same information about me.

You were one of the first of many to welcome me here when I joined in 2007: I doubt that you would ever say anything that would upset me in the slightest. Besides, how many people other than yourself and friends on here would take kindly to being included in reviews of City of The Living Dead and The Demon?    :teddyr:

The thing is, I can't access FB anywhere except on my old Nokia mobile ~ FB is blocked at work ~ so I deactivated it. Anyone that wants to contact me via email or even phone, just PM me and we can keep in contact those ways other than just on here.

Here's how I do facebook.

I go to a Barnes & Noble and find the biggest, heaviest book I can. Then I sit and pretend I'm reading it. When some pimply-faced teen walks by I stop him and say, "hey, I left my reading glasses at home. Could you read this line for me real quick?"

And when he puts his face in book I slam it on his face and say "welcome to facebook, biatch!"
I don't always talk about bad movies, but when I do, I prefer badmovies.org
