Ward Cleaver from "Leave It To Beaver" was a nice guy... and a handsome dad.  He must have made June jump for joy.   

Although, he could be a little hard on the beaver at times.

Cliff Huxtable was an awesome tv dad - although I never thought of him like that as I was a little kid when that show was on   

I was a teenagers so that was no stretch for me.

TV really liked widowers (and widows) families broken by death (only later divorce).  
"THE COURSHIP OF EDDIE'S FATHER" with BILL BIXBY... am I wrong thinking that a lady would probably find a young, widowed, great father with gentleness and humor, also to be sexy?
