QuoteClout were originally a five-piece, South African million-selling all-girl rock group formed in 1977, best known for their song, "Substitute".

Any idea what became of them? According to wikki they split in 1981. Just wondering if they did solo projects, still doing music or other stuff, or completely retired from the biz.

Claws, Cindy Alter is still active in the industry as far as I know: she did a 2011 version of Substitute with an IMO far inferior singer but I don't know anything about the whereabouts of the others.

Ahh thanks. I probably could have googled but I thought maybe you had some "local" insider info on the whereabouts of that band. Thanks again for the quick reply :)

I was just reading Cindy Alters bio in the link you posted and wow, she was quite busy. Nice to see she's still doing music.

And that voice is still there indeed.   We also have a newsreel from 1977 which features the group.
