No jokes: a light flurry of snow fell on Pretoria a few minutes ago. Not even close enough to build a snowman, but wow. Snow! :teddyr:

Wow!  Pretoria and snowmen...not words that share space often.  If you get more of the white stuff, let us know if you could use some suggestions as to what to do with it.     I rather like the image of Trevor building a snowman.

Unfortunately, not even enough to make a soft drink cold but it's the first time in my almost 45 ( :buggedout: :buggedout:) years that I've seen snow, light as it was, fall. Magical.

Knowing me, the snowman will turn out a leetle mushy.

Always takes me a second to remember they have opposite seasons there. Also takes some imagination to think of how interesting it must be for Trevor. Sadly, snow loses some of its magic by about the 50th time you've shoveled two feet of it out of a driveway.

My usual reaction the first time I see snow every year.

"sh!t."

Nice. I don't think we ever had snow in August but we once did in July during a crazy storm. Snow taking turns between rain and hail.

I was in a snowstorm in July once: on a week-long trail ride along the Great Divide in the Rockies.  Most of our tents collapsed.  Whee!

We may well be a bit jaded about snow here Trev.  But watching the flakes drift down IS magical - one of my favourite things to do on a windless night is to go out and just listen to the snow fall.

Our location along the East Coast gives us just enough of it so that a really big snowfall is a fun event.  I can imagine that getting 12" or more of snow constantly would get very tedious.

I drove through a snowstorm on New Year's I think last year and was lucky to make it home alive. I literally could not see two feet in front of my car for much of the trip.

That said, I actually love snow. I love the look of it making everything appear all clean and shiny. The only thing I don't like about snow is shovelling it and it making it dangerous to travel..

I've seen snow many times in SA but I've never seen it fall.

Thankfully, I've never had to do this.  :buggedout:
