It's human nature to have a bit of trepidation towards new beaus in your parents' lives.  I've been witness to it with my mom a hanful of times.  As long as he doesn't do anything illegal and makes her happy it should be the son's duty to at least appear happy for them.  Sounds like you're ready for that step.  Best of luck; I'm sure it will work out great!

I'm happy for BOTH of you; she's got someone to share life with, and you've got someone who, as you do, loves her deeply.

If it's true what they say, that GOD created us in His image, then why should we not love creating, and why should we not continue to do so, as carefully and ethically as we can, on whatever scale we're capable of?

The choice is simple; refuse to create, and refuse to grow, or build, with care and love.

...I will only see her once or twice a year as the city is far from here as opposed to a few miles usually, so it wil be quite a wrench, but I will get used to it. Eventually.
All I can say is [expletive deleted] it: I am going to miss her when she leaves.  :bluesad
Time for you to give up celibacy and find love yourself.

I think it is wonderful.  She is a very lucky lady on all counts: to have found love twice in her lifetime and to have a son like Trevor.

Thanks, Newt: the only problem I have is her finding out about her love-life splashed out for all to see on line [*Trevor gets hit upside the head*]  :buggedout: OWW... sorry, Mom: only joking.....  :teddyr:
Wait til she hears about the pictures!  :bouncegiggle:

If you see Joan Collins, you see Mom so pictures won't be a problem.  :teddyr:

I'm meeting Mom's husband tomorrow and will give him, as Paquita said, 'the talk'.

In fairness, Trevor, you did mention that you came on a little strong in the "be good to my Mom" department.  I imagine you can be quite...intense...when moved to it.   :buggedout:

eta:  ...or maybe someone filled him in on the underwear situation?  That could scare anyone!

I agree that I did: I'm often told I have a madness in my eyes and I have seen people take a step backwards when they say something and they then see the 'other Trevor" that hardly anyone sees. And yes, I can be very intense and very angry when the situation demands it but other than those times, I choose not to be intense and angry. Kids like me so I can't be all bad.

True that: I would imagine that someone from Mom's family told him ~ he does live across the road from Mom's sister, so....  :buggedout: :teddyr: :teddyr:

As long as you try to get along with people, there's nothing wrong with them being afraid of crossing you. Speak softly and carry a big stick, as Indy used to say. Or was that Teddy Roosevelt? So hard to tell those two apart.
