As all actors eventually do Keanu Reeves has come out of the closet and decided he wanted to be a director.  Keanu best known for this confused stares, and "Whoa!" is going to be directing an action movie.

Is anyone else suddenly worried about all the old people in the park practicing Tai Chi?  I think they are secretly building a Kung Fu army now.
This is my awesome signature.  Jealous?

It looks awesome. Tai Chi pre communism was fierce. Wudang style!

I texted a friend about this last night.  He said that he couldn't imagine what it would look like, and I described it as being a 'cage fighting HK movie with wirework and tai chi.  And Keanu Reeves plays the bad guy'.  It looks like it could be really cheesy, but fun.

The movie is nothing new, but it knows how to entertain. Especially the fight scenes (done by Yuen-Woo Ping) were great.

Saw this last week and thought it was a fun time. Keenu understands that there needs to be more than just constant action (ie the overrated "The Raid") to make a film and spends enough time with story and character that I actually wanted to see what happened. The fight scenes are very well shot with each of his opponents using different fighting styles. Keenu is a bit wooden even under his own direction which is kind of funny but he still offers a good physical presence as the main bad guy. Overall though the editing (there are some great montages of our main guys rise in the middle), action choreography and good pace makes this an excellent directorial debut from Keenu Reeves.
