Big brother puts doll in dryer??

I have a vague memory of a big brother putting his little sister's doll in the dryer....I can't remember all of the movie. Just that the doll was alive (?) I think?? She was highly upset...I thought it was Rainbow Brite but it isn't a cartoon, it's a real person kind of movie. It's older also, maybe 80s, early 90s. Thanks in advance for any and all help!
