My brother was still alive when I took this cat.  He said to his wife: "John needs that cat as much as that cat needs John."  His wife told me that story many times.  I had asked Gayle to take her boy back to the farm if I were to drop dead... daed... 
 
I often joked with her about that cat whom she named, though I have my own diminutive for him.  Of course she said yes... I do not recall ever talking with her about their ashes or her animals yet somehow I knew what to do.

I've lost so many, I don't have a second look at death.  I'm only 31.
