Favorite DRACULA movie!?

Of course mine is DRACULA (1931)-yes-it gets turtle slow after Drac hits London-BUT-Bela's hypnotic performance in the first quarter is...amazing.
Runners up-NOSFERATU (1922),TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA (1969).

This scene gives me the creeps to this day-not what he says-it's how he says it.
Theres a tremble in his voice-"-they make"-his voice -like he's having an orgasm by hearing baying wolves-his only freinds.

Dracula talks in non squiters-he doesnt have contact with humans-he lives in his own little dark universe...of course the whole first half of the movie is  thrown to the wind once he hits London. Still my favorite..just for those bizzare scenes at Draculas castle. I LOVE it.
Oddly enough,this wasnt the first Lugosi film I saw that turned me onto Lugosi-that would be WHITE ZOMBIE (1932)-then the RAVEN (1935)...that was in 1970 on Double Creature Feature from South Bend ,Indiana, which I saw when I was 8...I first saw DRACULA in 1978! 
The first Lugosi film-the first horror film- I ever saw was in upstate NY in 1967-and it was FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLFMAN (1942). I was 5 years
old...and I still remember. Dad bought me and Mike those plastic Marx monster figures from the dime store-we had Frankenstien,the Wolfman,and the Mummy.

I cant recall what happened last month-but I can recall what happened 46 years ago.

1931 one with Lugosi is amazing on my favorite. Nosfertu is a very close second.

Lugosi is amazing, and will always set the standard.
I haven't seen any of the Christopher Lee Dracula movies in ages, but I really enjoyed them as a kid.

Gary Oldman did a cool turn as Dracula in the 1990's version.

I think I like ALL DRACULA movies... even the BAD ones!!!   

BUT, nobody can EVER touch BELA LUGOSI in that original lousy, under-produced, hackneyed movie DRACULA because of his SPECTACULAR PERFORMANCE.  One of the screen's indelible performances, if you had to pick 5 awesomely influential screen portrayals, he'd be in the top 5 with SHIRLEY TEMPLE as bright eyes or BORIS KARLOFF as Frankenstein's monster...
I think BELA LUGOSI was one of the best screen actors, one who never got his due... except maybe that once.

Basically, the Goonies but instead of mobsters their opposition was the Universal Monsters.  Frankenstein, Wolf Man, Dracula, etc.  The guy who played Dracula was pretty good.  Frank, too.

When I saw this on the cover of Famous Monsters in 1972-I questioned Forry's sanity-untill I realized he acted in it.

My god-I saw it on TV in 1972-s**t! One of the worst films EVER!

Indy-I recall me and Dad were watching the Palance Dracula-and the movie got cancelled in the middle because Richard Nixon resigned! They cut of Dracula for that moron! f**k! He was sweating like a Jew in Germany.

Obviously Dracula (1931)...not only because of Lugosi, but especially because I love Dwight Frye in it.
Followed closely by Nosferatu (1922) and Dracula - Prince of Darkness (1966)
Never watched the Oldman-Dracula though.

I haven't seen the 1931 Dracula in so long I can't remember too much about it.  I'll have to check it out again one of these days.

I think my favorite would be Dracula Has Risen from the Grave (1968).  I've never been much of a fan of Lee's Dracula but I really like the characters and story in that one.

Another one I haven't seen in ages is Werner Herzog's Nosferatu from 1979, starring Klaus Kinski, but I remember liking it a lot at the time.

Favourite performance? Bela as Dracula in all the roles he performed it in. Honestly I also really like Christopher Lee's Hammer run of films in the role too.

Also ranking very highly with me: Lon Chaney Jr. in Son of Dracula, John Carradine in House of Dracula and House of Frankenstein, Frank Langella's Dracula, David Peel in The Brides of Dracula, Francis Lederer in The Return of Dracula, and in The Monster Squad. I think the 2000s produced the worst versions of the character to date in stuff like Dracula 2000 and Blade: Trinity...
