All kinds of you-know-what are coming your way later this year.

The Toronto SA Film Fest www.tsaff.ca is held there in November yearly: I was contacted a month ago about the possibility of screening archival films there on 35mm and replied with a list.

One of the criteria of getting films from us is that one of us must go with the things to supervise projection so there is a slim chance that I might go.

Toronto, beware!*

*But it will be nice if I could go.  :teddyr: :teddyr:

Toronto in November?

I think you'll need a bigger pair of undies.

I checked the weather site: 9 degrees in November?  :buggedout: :buggedout:

Cold weather notwithstanding, I really hope I can go - I don't get the chance to travel internationally much.

What?  WHAT?  WHAT?!!

Seriously?  You wouldn't be kidding us now, would you?

And 9 degrees C is light jacket weather.

No, not at all. I did say that I might go and if I can, I will grab the chance.  :teddyr:

:teddyr: :teddyr:

That's 9 degrees Fahrenheit, correct?

I have a jacket Dad gave me like the one Brian Dennehy wore in First Blood: I will bring that along.  :teddyr:

Tsk.  You've been hanging around those Americans too much.  ;)  Just remember in Canada it's Celsius.

That jacket will be perfect.

:teddyr: :teddyr:

The coldest weather I have ever been in was -2 degrees celsius in Bloemfontein several years ago and all I had for warmth was (a) the car's heater, (b) a burger and fries, (c) a coffee and (d) that coat. No cold, no problem.

I also have a scarf, gloves and a beanie someone special sent me: those will come in handy.

Don't listen to her!  9 C is STILL cold if it's humid enough.

Ask me how I know.   :bouncegiggle:

Aren't YOU an "American," too...technically?   :teddyr:

Anyway...

It sounds like a great trip, Trevor.  Have you been to "the New World" before, or would this be your first?

Man, I am sensing a BadMovies.Org group trip to Toronto (though I happen to know I can't make it there Nov. of this year... :bluesad: )

Edit: Corrected F to C. D'oh.

Canadian born and bred, technically I'm 'North American', yes.  But you lot south of the border have more or less co-opted the term 'American' in common parlance.

Too bad you have other commitments.   :bluesad:  Go ahead and bask in the sunny south, Ulthar: if Trevor comes to T.O. I'll be there with bells on!  I live just over an hour away.   :teddyr:

Yes it will be my first if it happens:I have only ever been overseas once before in 2002 when Italy shuddered at my arrival.

OK, how?

We have interesting Novembers/Decembers here.  It rains a lot, but it is very 'cold rain.'  It's like it WANTS to snow but can't quite get there, but the rain feels colder than snow would, if that makes sense.  9C would be on the warm side of that, of course; we get a lot of rain in the 1-4C range.  9 C still feels cold when it's so humid you can almost squeeze water out of the air.

Happens just about every year.

Edit: By the way, "here" is South East on the Coast (about 30 miles inland).
