I was surprised to read that many people never heard of heated syrup on pancakes. Some even think it is gross. My Dad is from the South, he always served us kids pancakes with heated maple syrup. I thought that was a common thing.

So, what is your personal preference when it comes to syrup on pancakes?

Jack

We usually microwave it a bit so it's warm.  Though room temp is fine too.

Heated is a very rare treat for me. the rest of the time, I just eat hot dogs.

Heated. It melts the butter faster.

And what about Bovril and marmite, trev? How would you describe the flavor, and no, chicken can't be the taste...that's too easy!

Hot syrup is the bomb!  They actually make microwaveable syrup bottles now and that's all I buy.

As a sensible, strange person....WHERE'S THE ALL OF THE ABOVE OPTION?!?! I really don't care if it's warm, hot, or cold, just as long it gets in mah belly!

Well, it's either Bovril or Marmite (not together  :buggedout:): tastes nice.

Usually room temperature.  Though if heated syrup is available I'll take that.

Forget syrup. Forget butter. Pancakes with gravy poured over them is the way to go. Then watch the expressions of people you ask for your pancakes to be served with gravy.
