     I wound up with two copies of this DVD, neither one of which is playable on my machine; wrong region....

     This is a rather obscure film, perhaps one you've been looking for.

     From what I understand, more expensive DVD players will play discs regardless of region. If you have one of these, you might be interested in a copy. Both of these have a "12" on the case,  although that doesn't seem to be the code. Both come from a third-party vendor in England, so they're probably Region 2.
