Speaking of South Africa, Trevor, do be careful if that approaching cyclone hits where you are. Be sure to stock up on water, food, batteries, and for the love of God, clean underwear.
What does not kill me makes me stranger.

Amazing what crap the apartheid censors got up to:

Audrey Rose
Bay of Blood / Twitch of The Death Nerve
Cannibal Holocaust
Crowhaven Farm
Cry of The Banshee
Dark Places
Death Line
Demon Seed
The Devil's Rain
The Devils
Devil Within Her
The Exorcist
Exorcist 11 The Heretic
Exorcist 111
Friday The 13th
Horror Hospital
It's Alive
Prince Of Darkness
Q The Winged Serpent
Race With The Devil
Tales That Witness Madness
The Dunwich Horror
The Godsend
The Howling
The Omen
The Satanic Rites of Dracua
The Sentinel
The Shadowed Mind
The Stick
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Wicker Man
Witchfinder General

I hate censorship.

Has South Africa censoring other 'newer' horror films or is the censoring policy sort of forgotten... I don't think Saw was an awesome movie but the content on Saw is more graphic than Texas Chainsaw Massacre...

I'm bumping this thread because I'm really interested in the subject.

I believe the Video nasty is an obsolete list that had never been changed or updated, I could be wrong but I wonder if the South African ban list is similar.

On a related note, I wonder if whoever allows such things regrets letting (whoever) them filming parts of "The Brothers Grimsby" there...

:buggedout: :buggedout:

That was an awful film indeed.

Thanks: we're inland so the worst we can expect is rain, wind and some soiled undies.

Since the new censors took over (www.fpb.gov.za) there's been little or mno bannings, thankfully.
