When doing a history essay as school we had a challange going on to see who could use "Antidisestablismentarianism" the most. Never been able to find a use for it since.

I love odd phrases and use them as much as I can. I especially love the ones that do not translate well into other languages (AoTFan's pretty much make sense in German, except probably the first one). My favorite German ones that do not do well in English:

"That makes the dog go crazy in the frying pan."

"The mouse won't bite a thread off it."

"The other way makes the shoe."

I also used to like: "Choke me in the shallow water, before I get too deep." When that song was big people would say that.
