Can we just respect other people's choices even if we disagree with them? Do we have to bug someone over a choice because we don't agree with it? Christ I personally think "Indiana Jones and the temple of doom" is one of the worst movies ever made but if I listed it here some people would just go on a jihad to make me sayni was wrong. If you ask people's opinions please don't attack, or xxxxing nag, them for it.

BTW Rambo 2 really sucked. Blowing a guy to mist with an arrow? The soviet gunship rising ominously in front of a bloody sun with arforementioned sun  shining clearly thru the obviously empty rocket tubes, firing a bazooka inside a helicopter without cooking the men behind you, clearly showing the box that had smoke pouring out of it to make the copter look damaged...ghawdawful. And in a high budget movie.

You need to put a cork in it.  Ron and I are old friends.

that's a load of horse hockey, sven. this is a DISCUSSION forum, not an opinion blog. do we argue, oh yes we do! and you know what? when we ask someone WHY, it's NOT to make them say they're wrong, it's because we want to KNOW why they think the way they do. asking why is NOT showing disrespect in any way, i don't know where you got that idea, unless you aren't grasping the purpose here. disrespect here, to me at least, is when you tell someone they're stupid for disagreeing with YOUR opinion, or bringing your opinion of an actor or director's personal life/convictions/political stance into a discussion of a MOVIE. that has no bearing on the MOVIE, see? example, i love polanski films, and woody allen films, and their personal lives have NOTHING to do with why i like their movies. can you see what i'm trying to say? i'm fine arguing my opinion of their lives any time, but that's totally separate. like the cosby situation. the personal crap has no bearing on the fact that i love his tv shows and concert films. i'm not making sense, i don't have the right words...

"Frankenstein's bloody nightmare." is only good for warning people about the hazards of taking cheaply made LSD.

This would have been more interesting if they had recorded 90 minutes of a camera pointed at a concrete wall.

I haven't seen it in a long time and I have no plans to re-watch it, but I remember having a specific hatred towards "Humanoids of the Deep". I remember it being an incredibly repugnant concept and while I honestly do prefer to avoid any films or programs that include sexual violence (personal preference, I'd just rather not see that), I think that having anthropomorphic fish people doing exactly that to humans is gratuitous and I don't recall anything the movie had to redeem itself. Again, I haven't watched it in a long time, so I'm sorry if I'm remembering it wrong or missing key details. Just my personal thoughts.

Well, technocally HftD just delivered on what "creature from the black lagoon" implied. I mean what do you think ol gilly wanted that beautiful  brunette for? To vacuum and dust his grotto?

Well, I admit, I never thought about that, I still think it's perverted and unnecessary to have a monster literally rape a human onscreen. I know that plenty of other movies (including Creature from the Black Lagoon, like you said, as well as others such as Ro-Man) implied that the monsters had... plans, and while I think even that's not really necessary to develop a good plot featuring a monster (I mean, look at Godzilla, he just wanted to either blow up a city, or depending on his mood, go beat up another monster that also wanted to blow up a city, or go march around on his island, etc.), I think those movies still had at least some dignity with the fact that it was (usually) nothing more than a mere implication. Maybe they really did just want someone to tidy up their grotto? I'm sure it can get rather messy in there! :bouncegiggle:

I know I can be somewhat of a prude when it comes to movies, so perhaps it's just me on this one. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm sorry. I don't see IT'S ALIVE anywhere near the toture porn s**t. It was boring. I wanted more killer baby. It's not even in the same catogory.
Cmon, Hallows. It shouldn't even be in this topic.
Man, you annoy the sh!t outta me.  Why don't you READ what I wrote?  I said "IT'S ALIVE" is better than torture porn.  It should be in this topic, YOUR TOPIC, because it is an AWFUL BAD MOVIE.
:hatred:

What I meant by 'AWFUL" was awful as in disgusting, perverted, and unclean AWFUL.
I guess I should have clarified that. Aw well...being as we're using a broader term than what I implied (instead of defined) then we'll go with the broader definition.
Sorry!

Ok- where was I? Oh yeah

the MEN BEHIND THE SUN (1988)
This movie made me physically ill. After this scene, I shut it off. I couldn't watch any more.

I'm not surprised "men behind the sun" was hard to watch. It's based on Japanese war crimes  that match or exceed anything the Nazis did.
