That's not even as good as some robots from the 50's.

But it is better than the robots from War of the Robots and Star Odyssey:

I seen WAR OF THE ROBOTS! Man, that's a chore. Watching that is really hard work.  :bluesad:
Sometimes I don't know why I torture myself watching some of this s**t. It really is a job. And the pay stinks!

The Volkite Robots from Undersea Kingdom (1936) were a pretty good example of dorky robots for the time. There were of course way worse, though.

Meanwhile, we have Ro-Man from Robot Monster (1953), which is an entirely different kind of bad. Looks like a gorilla with a diving helmet. :bouncegiggle:

And lastly, here are the Quarks from the Doctor Who episode, The Dominators (1968).

"Listen, you've got to get down below. There's something coming through, and it's the nastiest looking thing yet! Some of your buddies went down there a while ago, and I haven't seen them since."

Might as well post a couple more, I got nothing better to do and bad robots are sort of what got me into the whole B-Movie genre.  :teddyr:

This is Gamelot from Ultraman Leo (1974). He's a giant robot with springs inside of his legs sent and he can also retract his limbs into his body to fly around. The design is actually not bad, but the whole leg-spring thing came off as pretty cheesy.

And lastly, here is Mechagiras from Ultraman 80 (1980). While the design isn't too bad, it's pretty much Ultraman's cheap knockoff of the more popular Mechagodzilla from Toho's films. It's a giant robotic dinosaur-like thing, it fires lasers, has a force field surrounding it, and it has a head that rotates a full 360° that also just so happens to be its weakness. Oh, and it uses Gigan's roaring sound.  :bouncegiggle:

Heh, sure looks like it! Gas pumps with big morning-star-esque heads.

The more I look at them, they seem like cigarette vending machines.

This robot, minus the visor, was based on what a UFO abductee described seeing on a flying saucer.

Dang it this is the robot I was going to post, it was the first one that came to mind!

How'bout the stop-motion wonders from STAR CRASH, then?
They look like they asked an eight year old "draw us a robot!" and then based the models around that!

"If you're a false, don't entry, because you'll be burned and died!"

It's a pretty interesting case. Either they're pranking big time our it's true.
