The one is from Old Mother Riley Meets the Vampire (1952), which starred Bela Lugosi!

"Listen, you've got to get down below. There's something coming through, and it's the nastiest looking thing yet! Some of your buddies went down there a while ago, and I haven't seen them since."

Exactly two, and only two, directors could have gotten away with these robots.

The other was Mel Brooks.

Movieman from Dimensional Warrior Spielban (1986):

Devil Gun from J.A.K.Q. Blitzkrieg Squad (1977):

This is the original Moguera from The Mysterians (1957):

Not sure if this is a robot or not, but this is Satan Gorth from Special Megabeast Investigator Juspion (1985):

And here is the robot from The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy (1958):

"Listen, you've got to get down below. There's something coming through, and it's the nastiest looking thing yet! Some of your buddies went down there a while ago, and I haven't seen them since."

You probably won't believe this but the Japanese made a live spider man series with spider man piloting a giant robot.  I swear it's true.  Behold.

Haha, they do look similar! Except, you can actually see the actor's face in the one from "The Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy" if you look closely.  :bouncegiggle:

I haven't seen all of Ship of Monsters, I just skimmed through it on YouTube after you posted that picture featuring Tor. I've been more familiar with the Japanese tokusatsu shows and films as well as a good chunk of European and American monster flicks, but somehow, the South American ones always manage to fall under my radar..... Maybe it's because the title isn't always translated to English? And also because they seem to never show up on my searches for dumb monster movies for some reason....

I have seen MST3K's take on the Aztec Mummy one though, that was quite an experience.  :teddyr:
